Hermantown Summer Softball
The HSSA board is looking forward to a great 2025 rec season. The purpose of our Rec Ball program is to promote and teach the fundamentals of softball and to encourage a fun environment. Please see the information below for each level we offer.

Information Per Age Level
6U (Rookies)
- Cost $85 Includes Jersey (T-shirt)
- Fundraiser Fee: $180.00 per family. Each family will receive 5 Kwik Trip gift cards to sell or $80.00 fundraising buyout fee.
- Ball size: Softie 11"
- All practices are held at Rose Road Fields on Field 3.
- Our Rookie (6U) program focuses heavily on fundamentals and introduction to the sport, its rules and game play.
8U
- Cost $120 Includes Jersey (T-Shirt)
- Fundraiser Fee: $180.00 per family. Each family will receive 5 Kwik Trip gift cards to sell or $80.00 fundraising buyout.
- Ball size: Softie 11"
- Games on Mondays, except for Memorial Day. Will play on Thursday that week
- Games start May 19, 2025
- 8 week season
- Home games played at Rose Road Fields. Away games played at other Arrowhead league field locations.
- 8U playoffs the week of July 14
10U
- Cost $175
- Uniform Cost $65
- Fundraiser Fee: $180.00 per family. Each family will receive 5 Kwik Trip gift cards to sell or $80 fundraiser buyout fee.
- Ball size: 11"
- Games on Wednesdays
- Games start May 21, 2025
- 8 week season
- Home games played at Rose Road Fields. Away games played at other Arrowhead league field locations.
- 10U playoffs on July 14 and 16
12U
- Cost $200
- Uniform Cost $65
- Fundraiser Fee: $180.00 per family. Each family will receive 5 Kwik Trip gift cards to sell or $80.00 fundraising buyout fee.
- Ball size: 12"
- Games on Tuesdays
- Games start May 20, 2025
- 8 week season
- Home games played at Rose Road Fields. Away games played at other Arrowhead league field locations.
- 12U playoffs July 15 and 17
14U
- Cost $250
- Uniform Cost $65
- Fundraiser Fee: $180.00 per family. Each family will receive 5 Kwik Trip gift cards to sell or $80.00 fundraising buyout fee.
- Ball size 12"
- Games on Wednesdays, and a few on Thursdays, depending on number of teams
- Start the week of June 2, 2025
- Seven week season
- All games played at Wade or Wheeler Fields
- 14U playoffs week of July 21
16U/18U
- Cost $300
- Uniform Cost $65
- Fundraiser Fee: $180.00 per family. Each family will receive 5 Kwik Trip gift cards to sell or $80.00 fundraising buyout fee.
- Practices 1-2 per a week
- Ball size: 12"
- Games on Mondays and Tuesdays
- Games start the week of June 2, 2025
- 7 week season
- All games are played at Wade and Wheeler Fields
- Depends on number of teams if separate or a combined league
- 16U/18U playoffs week of July 21
Kwik Trip Fundraiser
In lieu of a volunteer fee, each family will pay a Fundraiser Fee.
The fee of $180 will be paid at the time of registration and will cover the cost of 5 Kwik Trip Ultimate Car Wash Cards.
Each Ultimate Car Wash card costs the association $20. We sell them for $36 each and retain a $16 profit per card. This fundraiser will help to offset costs (concession stand employees, umps, field crew, etc.) to keep registration fees down, and will also assist in the purchase of larger ticket items (i.e. scoreboards or overhead nets).
Since the cards will be paid for before they are in hand, families will collect (and keep) the $36 fee. You also have the opportunity to pre-sell to family and friends and distribute the cards when they arrive.
Fundraiser Incentive Program
- Sell 5 additional cards (10 cards total): Pick an item from the apparel store from list of approved items
- Sell 10 additional cards (15 cards total): Pick an item from the apparel store from list of approved items AND get entered into a drawing for one of the HSSA travel bags
- Sell 15 additional cards (20 cards total): Receive HSSA travel bag OR your choice of another apparel item.
- Sell 25 additional cards (30 cards total): Receive HSSA travel bag OR a second apparel item AND get entered into a drawing for FREE registration (up to $300) for the 2025 season.
